Fillings
In our office we prefer the term “restorations” rather than “fillings” when referring to filling a cavity because we are, in essence, restoring teeth to their natural shape and function. Cavities happen when plaque is allowed to build up, leading to tooth decay or a hole in the tooth.
What Happens at an Appointment
An anesthetic will be administered to numb the area surrounding the problem tooth. The decay is carefully removed and a tooth-coloured material is placed, shaped and bonded to the tooth. We do not use mercury or metal for our restorations. The procedure is quick and easy.
